Description
A Lake Como boat trip from Milan with long stretches of free time: four hours in all between two lakeside towns. An air-conditioned bus leaves central Milan and follows the scenic road along the lake to Bellano, where you go aboard the boat and sail past villas on the shore.
The first landing is Bellagio, at the tip of the promontory that splits the lake into two branches. You have two hours here to climb its stairways, browse artisan boutiques, take photos or sit down to lunch among the flowers.
After the break you meet your guide and sail on to Varenna, whose pastel-coloured houses and Lovers' Promenade, the Passerella degli Innamorati, hang over the water. Another two hours let you explore the narrow alleys or have a coffee by the shore. Late in the afternoon the boat returns to Bellano, and the bus takes you back to Milan in time for dinner.

Wear comfortable shoes. Lunch is not included, and the itinerary can be reversed or changed because of weather or restrictions. The tour does not suit wheelchair users.
