Popis
Discover Milan's charming Navigli canals by boat. Admire historic landmarks and enjoy a delightful aperitivo with local wine and snacks (if option selected).
Begin your cruise on the Naviglio Grande, where you’ll see the typical houses that historically made up the working-class districts of Milan, the “case di Ringhiera.” Continue to one of the oldest churches in the city: the Church of San Cristoforo, whose construction began in the 13th century and is now a favorite for wedding celebrations.
Proceed by boat along the Naviglio Grande and come across the historic headquarters of Canottieri Milano Olona, the first rowing team in the city, and the famous Vicolo dei Lavandai, an architectural jewel that takes its name from the Confraternity of the Launderers.
Since the 18th century, this guild was in charge of washing the linen of wealthy families. The linens were collected in panniers and carried on the shoulders in the alley up to the iconic washhouse that still exists today.
Cross the Scodellino Bridge to reach the modern and famous Darsena, an area of entertainment and recreation on the water, characterized by the presence of bars, restaurants, and clubs. This is still one of the main centers of Milanese nightlife.
Leave the Darsena and continue to navigate the Naviglio Pavese, crossing the Trophy Bridge. See the alley of cheesemakers where the delicious mascarpone cheese is said to have been invented. Finally, arrive at the Conchetta, the first of the 14 navigation basins that connects Milan and Pavia. Designed by Leonardo da Vinci, it is still operational five centuries after its construction.
End your cruise back at the starting jetty, on the Naviglio Grande.
