Description

A Lake Como day trip from Milan built around photo spots: three guided walks in Como, Bellagio and Lugano, plus a one-hour boat ride past the lake's villas.

This Lake Como day trip from Milan is made for people who like to come home with a full camera roll. Over about twelve hours an air-conditioned bus carries you through Como, Bellagio and Lugano, and the guide points out where the views are best. The commentary comes in English and Spanish, and each guest gets a personal audio headset.

The first stop is Como, with a walk through the old town taking in the Duomo, the Broletto and San Fedele church, then free time for shopping or a meal. A local boat then glides along the shore for an hour, passing Villa Oleandra, the one linked to George Clooney, then Comacina Island and the villas of Balbianello and Carlotta before reaching Bellagio, where you wander lively narrow streets, artisan workshops and viewpoints, with time for an ice cream.

After a short ferry ride the bus heads for the Swiss border and follows Lake Lugano towards Lugano. A guided walk through its centre of boutiques ends with free time for last pictures. Meals, tips and hotel pickup are not included, so you start from the meeting point in Milan. Bring a valid passport or European ID card, comfortable shoes and, in summer, sun protection.
